Extract from Shirley's first radio series 1941 ----------------------------------------------- Shirley Temple Time was the Elgin Watch Company's holiday gift to radio audiences in 1941. Highly publicized as Shirley's first radio series (she had appeared previously in single episodes of the Screen Guild Theater and in interviews at her movie premieres), each of the four half-hour shows was written especially for the adolescent Ms. Temple, now an MGM star in her first feature for that studio, Kathleen. Her leading men were stellar: Warner Baxter, Lionel Barrymore, Robert Young and Humphrey Bogart! Shirley -- now a glamorous young lady, but still enough of a kid to hang up her stocking on Christmas Eve. ____________________________________ Rita Dubas collection Copyright 2001
